Remember her in a nice dress! Taylor Swift was a summertime dream while stepping out in New York City ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
The Midnights songstress, 33, was spotted in Manhattan on Wednesday, May 24, wearing a two-piece ensemble perfect for the upcoming holiday weekend. Swift paired the Ralph Lauren Eyelet Linen Bustier and Mini Skirt with tan sandals and a matching shoulder bag. She accessorized the dreamy look with turquoise teardrop earrings along with a dainty gold bracelet and matching rings. The pop star wore her tresses back in a sleek ponytail for the warm day and rocked her signature red lip and black winged eyeliner.
The low-key and comfortable look is a break from her recent onstage fashion choices. The songwriter is currently in the midst of her Eras Tour — her first time on the road in over five years — performing three-hour concerts that require more than 10 costume changes throughout the night.
The tour celebrates all of Swift’s past albums and features wardrobes inspired by her past LPs including S peak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights. She opens the show, however, in a bejeweled Versace bodysuit and coordinating Christian Louboutin knee-high boots to represent her 2019 album, Lover.
The Pennsylvania native later swaps her bodysuit for a variety of other ensembles, like a flapper-inspired Fearless Roberto Cavalli minidress, an Alberta Ferretti gown, and a custom Oscar de la Renta navy bodysuit — paired with a brightly colored shaggy coat — for the explosive finale.
While Swift is dressed to the nines for her weekend concerts, she’s recently been spotted dressing in a more casual style on her off

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large The official 2022-2023 TV season ended on May 24, according to Nielsen and as you may have seen via my annual TV series rankers (which I posted on Monday), we’ve got the wrap on this year’s winners and losers in the good ol’ fashioned linear TV world. Football, “Yellowstone” and procedurals, oh my! But we’re not living in a good ol’ fashioned linear TV world anymore. Television didn’t grind to a halt on May 24, and the Memorial Day weekend gauntlet of finales and premieres (!) was a fine reminder that TV no longer plays by the rules of a Nielsen calendar. Three of the biggest on-screen events of the year all took place on Sunday night: The series finales of HBO’s “Succession” and “Barry,” as well as the mind-blowing Season 2 ender for “Yellowjackets,” which hit Showtime’s linear channel that same evening.

Matty Healy is shrugging off the backlash he received following his appearance on a podcast whose hosts made disparaging comments about Ice Spice. In a recent profile, The 1975 frontman addressed the controversy and said the criticism he received is essentially virtue signaling.Healy found himself embroiled in controversy over his February appearance on podcast, in which the 34-year-old singer revealed he had actually slid into Ice Spice's DMs. The 23-year-old rapper — who recently collaborated with Healy's rumored girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and performed onstage with her over the weekend at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey — never responded to Healy's DMs.The hosts, Friedland and Nick Mullen, then proceeded to crack jokes at Spice's expense (the rapper is of Nigerian and Dominican decent) by exaggerating Inuit accents.

Brent Lang Executive Editor Family audiences turned out in force, propelling Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” to the top of the box office over the Memorial Day weekend. The film, a live-action remake of the 1988 animated favorite, earned a splashy $117.5 million over the four-day holiday. It ranks as the fifth largest Memorial Day debut — last year’s “Top Gun: Maverick” set a new record for the holiday with its $160.5 million launch. At one point over the weekend, it looked as if “The Little Mermaid” might even open north of $120 million, but ticket sales flagged slightly. For Disney, the film’s popularity is a testament to its strategy of digging deep into its vaults and rebooting animated titles as live action movies, something it has done successfully with the likes of “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King.” Waiting out on the horizon: Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Oscar-winning director of “Summer of Soul,” is helming a remake of “The Aristocats” for Disney.

William Earl Taylor Swift is such a force that her post-quarantine “Eras Tour” was a sensation the moment tickets went on sale. Despite Swift playing the biggest venues possible for multiple days in each city, the wild demand has helped to make each stop national news, especially as they are documented in real time on social media. Livestreams dominate on TikTok, “I-can’t-believe-you-got-tickets” posts rise to the top on Instagram, and the media cycle analyzes every change in Swift’s setlist, as well her famous friends in attendance. Beyond the hoopla, Swift’s May 26 NYC show at MetLife Stadium was a dazzling display of an artist at the height of her powers, able to elevate her success over her previously-set peaks. Swift paved the way to the “Eras Tour” via a wildly productive quarantine, when she recorded her sound-shifting trilogy of albums “Folklore,” “Evermore,” and “Midnights.” Those records broadened her appeal and won new fans, but her audience wondered how she’d ever be able to properly tour that trio plus her previous album, “Lover,” the tour of which was canceled because of COVID-19.
