Taylor Swift was seen fighting back tears on stage during her Eras Tour after the tragic deaths of two young fans.
The pop star was visibly upset as she performed a piano ballad at her show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, expressing her deep sadness over the loss. Ahead of Friday's concert, Ana Benevides, 23, passed away from cardiac arrest due to extreme heat at Estadio Olimpico Nilton Santos, with the venue originally refusing to hand out water to the concertgoers.
Over 1,000 fans fainted from the sweltering heat, and Taylor herself seemed exhausted after performing a rather energetic number. Tragically, just two days later, 25 year old Gabriel Santos was killed in a violent robbery on Copacabana beach while waiting for the Sunday night show.
Taylor, known for her hit Anti-Hero, was seen crying on stage during one of the most emotional performances of her tour on Sunday evening.
At every gig, Taylor Swift sings two acoustic songs from her vast collection, one on the guitar and one on the piano. She likes to mix it up each night, performing tunes she hasn't played live before or that haven't been heard on the Eras Tour.
Sunday's show was no different - she performed Dancing With Our Hands Tied from 2017's Reputation as the first surprise song, a lively love anthem that she hadn't performed live since the Reputation Stadium Tour. But her second song choice left the audience and fans around the world who were watching via livestreams on TikTok and other social media platforms in tears.
The song she chose was Bigger Than The Whole Sky, a slow, heartbreaking ballad about loss and mourning.
