Lainey Wilson Is Not Abashed to ‘Smell Like Smoke,’ as Her Original ‘Yellowstone’ Song Goes Up for Awards Consideration

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic It’s difficult to know whether Lainey Wilson would be as big a star as she’s recently become in the field of country music without the visibility boost she’s received from “Yellowstone.” The series began featuring her songs in season 2, a few years before Lainey was cast for a recurring role as a musician in season 5. The most likely answer: She’d probably be almost as big, even without the Taylor Sheridan factor. After all, it’s not a TV show that came up with the combination of country-rock singing chops, irresistible Louisiana accent and gosh-dang gung-ho that have captivated listeners to the point that, in short succession, she’s racked up four No. 1 Mediabase radio singles and been one of the leading winners at the CMA and ACM awards shows.

‘Yellowstone’ star Lainey Wilson says ending of hit show is ‘gonna be money’

As "Yellowstone" prepares to wrap up the hit show after five seasons, Lainey Wilson is just as excited as fans to see how the series will end.  "I have realized that the TV world is even crazier than the music world," she said during an interview with People.  "I'm like, ‘Taylor Sheridan, you got to let me know what's going on, bro.’ I'm excited to see what happens. There’s no doubt the rest of season five is gonna be money." While the second half of the fifth season of "Yellowstone" is expected to premiere in November, the country star admitted she’s also in the dark about co-creator Sheridan’s plans for the series.  Wilson portrayed the singer Abby on the hit show "Yellowstone" for four episodes. The 30-year-old artist pointed out how "Yellowstone" has made a major impact in the western world and the music industry overall.  "What ‘Yellowstone’ has done for the western way of life has been a huge turning point," she said.

From Elizabeth Taylor to Tom Cruise, Taormina Has Hosted the Stars

John Bleasdale Guest Contributor As far as history goes, you can’t get much more historical than Taormina for a film festival. The Antico Teatro (or Greek Theater) – where the latest films will be shown – dates back to 300 BC. More recently – as in a mere century or so – the Sicilian coastal town has proved an irresistible getaway for many, from Oscar Wilde to Greta Garbo. Born in 1955 as the Taormina and Messina Film Festival, the festival has frequently hosted many international stars of cinema, and intermittently distributed the Nastri Azzurri awards voted on by Italian journalists, and at others the David di Donatello, Italy’s equivalent to the Italian Oscars. Here are some key moments from its history. When Dickie fought with Liz: Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor had used Taormina as a getaway right at the beginning of their romance fresh from the set of “Cleopatra.” In 1967, they returned to Taormina to attend the film festival with Franco Zefferelli’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” for which Burton received the David di Donatello as best foreign actor. According to rumors, a blazing row on the terrace of their hotel – the San Domenico Palace – ended when Taylor conked Burton on the head with a mandolin.

the Hollywood Reporter. “It’s so hot and combustible right now.”Bentley was referring to his role as as Jamie Dutton, the more political-minded attorney general son of family patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who has various dramas on the show, along with his siblings Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Beth (Kelly Reilly). However, he could have just as easily been referencing all the behind the scenes drama. Creator Taylor Sheridan, 53, and Costner, 68, have a rumored feud that’s been ongoing. Amid Costner’s surprise divorce, there were allegations that he refused to spend more than one week filming the second half of Season 5 — a claim that Costner’s attorney denied. A different source claimed that Sheridan was to blame for the friction, stating that the showrunner developed a “God complex” as his star rose. “Only Taylor truly knows what is going on,” a source told The Post. “Taylor spent years not being truly appreciated in Hollywood, and now that he’s the top of the heap, there’s definitely some ego to all of this.”A article in the Wall Street Journal detailed Sheridan’s “ridiculous spending,” which includes renting his own cattle to Paramount at $25 a head, and charging up to $50,000 a week for the show to film on ranches that he owns. He also reportedly insists on using his preferred farrier to make the horseshoes, and had the specialist flown out to Montana from Texas in order to get the job done. “Are you kidding me? We can’t find a local person?” wrote David Glasser, the head of 101 Studios, in an email to staff. Bentley did not directly address all these rumors, but he did say about the show’s end, “You just never know.
