Tartan Army fans were thrown into chaos after a number of Edinburgh-bound flights were cancelled from Dusseldorf Airport last night.
Footage emerged online showing large groups of passengers stranded at the airport as they awaited flights home. One passenger described the situation as "absolute carnage" as his flight to Edinburgh was axed on June 22.
He said the airport was "full of Scotland fans" hoping to get their next destination as the Euros 2024 continues. Eurowings flight EW9364 was set to take off at 7.45pm and arrive at the Scottish capital at 8.25pm, reports Edinburgh Live.
Jamie Brodie wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: "Absolute carnage at Dusseldorf Airport. Flight to Edinburgh cancelled.
"Basically full of Scotland fans all having to get split up into different hotels and many groups split into different flights. 6am to be in Munich and Frankfurt.
"No party tonight."
Many were quick to comment on the situation at Dusseldorf Airport on Saturday. One person wrote on X: "That’s awful. We’re flying home from Brussels, flight boarding soon. Hope you all get home safe".
Another said: "All the more reason to party, get on the pints and get the place bouncing."
It comes as Scotland prepares to take on Hungary on Sunday, June 23, at 8pm at Stuttgart Arena.
