EXCLUSIVE: Tamera “Tee” Kissen is joining the cast of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, an new series coming soon to Netflix. The series comes from a previously announced creative partnership with Netflix, where Perry will write, direct, and produce feature films and series under a multi-year first-look deal. Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black follows two women leading very different lives.
Tamera will be portraying the character Body in a recurring role. The 16-episode hour-long drama is written, directed, and produced by Perry. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce the series for Tyler Perry Studios. Kissen is a part of an ensemble that includes Taylor Polidore Williams, Amber Reign Smith, Crystle Stewart, Ricco Ross, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson and more.
Kissen’s previous acting credits include the role of Sheila in White Men Can’t Jump (2023) and Grace in House Party (2023). She was featured in Dutch alongside Lance Goss and Rosewood opposite Morris Chestnut. She was also cast for three seasons as a comedian on MTV’s Wild N’ Out.
Kissen later landed partnerships for major companies such as Google and Adidas. In addition to that, her talk show Hot Tee has featured big-name guests such as Nick Cannon, The Game and Yung Bleu.
