Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder have been signed up to present a new BBC travelogue - right after Rylan quit Strictly: It Takes Two, The Sun has revealed. The Celebrity Big Brother winner, 34, was quick to fill in his busy agenda - two months as he left the BBC's spin-off after hosting it for four years.
The English broadcaster has now officially been signed to team up with Strictly star and criminal barrister Rob Rinder, 45, for a new Grand Tour travelogue bombshell. As Rylan has certainly been booked and busy, he will be heading straight to Italy - where the new BBC Two's show will be set - from Zante, Greece, where he was filming his very latest project, Prime Video's reality show The Bar.
The globetrotting series will see the former Strictly duo following the path of hedonistic 19th Century poet Lord Byron - as they will be meticulously guided by his letters and diaries. Moreover, Rob and Rylan's Italian Grand Tour will reiterate the paths of innumerable English aristocrats who embarked on what later became known as the Grand Tour.
In fact, the pair will retrace what the original gap year was between the 17th to early 19th-century: a custom of a traditional trip through Europe with Italy as a key destination. A source told The Sun that Rylan and Rob make nothing less than the 'perfect duo' for the upcoming travelogue show - which was inspired by Lord Byron's upcoming 200th death anniversary.
The source said they both love travelling and have 'a taste for finer things in life' - but their pursuit of pleasure 'from different directions' makes them perfectly complementary. 'It'll make for a unique take on a well-trodden path and it's hoped there's scope for a further series if viewers take to the theme,' the telly source
