Strictly Come Dancing contestant Molly Rainford and her professional partner Carlos Gu were all smiles as they made their way to rehearsals following their show-stopping dance in the first live show of this series. Singer and actress Molly, 21, arrived at the London dance studio with her hair tied back in a tight ponytail, wearing a blue coat, which she wore over a pair of jeans and a greyish t-shirt. Arriving alongside her, dance partner Carlos, 28, had also chosen to dress casually for the rehearsal.The professional dancer wore a pair of white trousers and a navy jumper with red and white stripes.
He also wore a navy bomber jacket, finishing off his look with a pair of shades. About halfway through Saturday’s live show, the judges found themselves blown away by Molly’s dancing skills.The pair performed the Samba to Kiss My (Uh Oh) by Anne Marie and Little Mix, which saw them awarded a seven from Craig and an eight from the rest of the judges, totalling 31.The duo ended the show third on the leaderboard.
Molly burst onto TV screens ten years ago, when she sang Ave Maria on Britain’s Got Talent, going on to become the youngest finalist in the show’s history. The young singer made it to the live shows, however lost out on winning to dog act Ashley and Pudsey, finishing in sixth place instead.
She chose to continue her studies after BGT, and Simon Cowell and Sony Music honoured Molly with their first ever drama school scholarship at internationally renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School. Now at age 21, Molly appears on CBBC children’s show Nova Jones, playing the part of an 18 year old intergalactic popstar who occupies her time performing in space.
