Graziano Di Primi’s wife Giada has shared the special meaning behind their choice stunning wedding venue, a 14-century castle on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean in the south of Sicily. The professional dancer, 32, has revealed how the Strictly Come Dancing star, 28, would take her to the grounds of the fortress on his Vesper before he was famous, and they would dream of tying the knot there one day back in 2014. “Graziano used to bring me to the castle gate when we first started dating and he didn’t have a car, only a Vespa,” said Giada, who is from Schiavon – a town close to Venice in the north of Italy.
“I used to reach my hand inside the gate to see if we could get into the castle but it was always locked. We never imagined then that we’d have the money to rent it for our wedding. Sicily was the perfect location to remind us of how it all began.” While Giada is from the north of Italy, Graziano was born and bred in the south in Sicily and left aged 17 to pursue his dancing dreams.
He would travel 15 hours by bus to see Giada when they first started dating - and wooed her with true love rather than extravagant gifts. She told of their love story, “In the beginning I thought it was a chemistry that would go away but Graziano told me he was in love with me,” she explains. “He was present in my life for one year after the TV show, sending me flowers, inviting me to events, travelling by bus for 15 hours from Sicily to Rome to see me.
