Johannes Radebe has opened up about his special connection with John Whaite, three years after they danced together on Strictly Come Dancing.
The pair made history as the show's first same-sex couple in 2021, and Johannes can't help but reminisce about their incredible bond even now. Spilling the tea on this week's episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, set to air on Saturday, April 13 on ITV, the 36 year old professional dancer shared his fond memories of dancing with the "caring" former Great British Bake Off winner.
"He lifted me like I was a piece of feather. I'm a well built man and I've always lifted women and I know the level of care that goes into that," Johannes reflected, adding: "For me to experience it for the first time was quite special and I have to thank John Whaite for being really caring with me." During the interview, Johannes also praised John's patience as he navigated this new dance dynamic, saying: "He was quite patient while I was trying to figure it out.
The truth is for the first time in my life I've had somebody say to me 'I've got you.'" The comments from Johannes' aren't the first time the dance pro has acknowledged his bond with John, as he previously told OK! that he felt their friendship would last a lifetime as he underscored the "platonic nature of their connection".
This heartfelt revelation comes after John Whaite's own bombshell admission to The Times in 2023, where he confessed to having "fallen for" Johannes during their stint on Strictly, despite being engaged to his partner Paul Atkins at the time.
