A man has gone on trial accused of 34 offences, including multiple rapes and other sexual crimes, against seven alleged victims.
Nicholas Stuart Moxham, 50, of Briarfield Road, Heaton Chapel, appeared in the dock at Minshull Street Crown Court today (Monday June 20) as a jury of seven men and seven women were sworn in.
The court clerk told the jury that Mr Moxham is to stand trial after pleading not guilty to the following offences:
Four counts of requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2012 and 2021. The trial is estimated to last for at least five weeks.
Judge John Potter adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
