Following their vision. As This Is Us comes to an end, creator Dan Fogelman opened up about the NBC show’s true message — and how that influenced the decision to have Rebecca (Mandy Moore) die ahead of the series finale.
Warning: This post contains spoilers for This Is Us.The penultimate episode of This Is Us was always going to belong to Rebecca Pearson. If the NBC drama’s first several seasons left viewers preoccupied with how Jack Pearson died (may the Crock-Pot live in minor infamy), then the last few have been—sometimes tediously—devoted to Rebecca’s eventual demise. The show’s second to last episode, titled “The Train” and written by series creator Dan Fogelman, does get there—but not before one last misdirect.Things kick off with an unfamiliar group in an ambiguous time period.
The end is near. The penultimate episode of This Is Us brought back fan favorite characters as Rebecca’s family prepared for her death.

Not endgame! Kate Pearson and Toby Damon may not have made it as a married couple on This Is Us, but even a brutal divorce couldn’t keep them from finding their way back to being family.

One of the more memorable moments from NBC upfront presentations of yesteryear was when the cast members of The West Wing took the stage at Radio City Music Hall after their first season. The reception was huge: The cast received a well-deserved standing ovation.
The final few episodes of “This Is Us” are going to be emotional.
Emotions are running high in the Pearson family as This Is Us nears the end. The Tuesday, May 10, episode followed Kate (Chrissy Metz), Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) as they planned for the rest of Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) life.
Life imitates art! This Is Us is known for its emotional dramatics as the Pearson family navigates life’s highs and lows while raising their expanding brood — which has impacted many of the stars’ own lives and parenting journeys.
The This is Us series finale doesn’t air until May, but cast members are bidding an early farewell as Tuesday was the last day of filming.
SPOILER ALERT: The following story reveals major plot points from tonight’s episode of NBC’s This Is Us.
Jennifer Maas TV Business WriterSPOLER ALERT: Do not read if you have not watched “Miguel,” the May 3 episode of “This Is Us.”“Miguel over the years,” was the simple description given for Tuesday’s “This Is Us,” the fourth-to-last episode of Dan Fogelman’s NBC family drama. While accurate, that logline doesn’t do the hour, aptly titled “Miguel,” justice, as it’s really the day-in-the-limelight installment fans of Jon Huertas’ Miguel Rivas have been waiting six seasons for — and also the one in which the character dies. The episode shows viewers Miguel’s origins in Puerto Rico, how he came to Pennsylvania as a boy with his parents and aunt, how he first didn’t get along with his best friend Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore), and how years after Jack’s death, Rebecca and Miguel found their way back to each other, this time as romantic partners.
Sterling K. Brown is still "making peace" with being a celebrity.
While 98 Degrees had a big fan following, Vanessa Lachey wasn’t one of them.
EXCLUSIVE: As NBC’s prepares to say its final goodbye on May 24, the cast and creator are leaving behind a legacy that will include a scholarship fund supporting Latinx students with big Hollywood dreams.
Finding love at his sister’s wedding is such a Kevin Pearson thing to do. The Tuesday, April 26, episode of This Is Us was aptly titled “The Night Before The Wedding” and gave viewers an inside look at what happened to Kevin (Justin Hartley) the night before his sister, Kate (Chrissy Metz), walked down the aisle.
Jennifer Maas TV Business WriterSPOLER ALERT: Do not read if you have not watched “The Night Before the Wedding,” the April 26 episode of “This Is Us.”There are four episodes left of “This Is Us” following Tuesday’s installment, which gave Pearson fans the long-awaited answer to the question of who is Kevin (Justin Hartley) going to marry without actually showing us who Kevin marries. The episode ended with the romantic reunion of high-school-sweethearts-turned-divorced-couple Kevin and Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) at Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) second wedding, and cheers from the whole family over those two crazy kids finally figuring it out, with the heavy implication (confirmed by Hartley and Breckenridge) it will result in them tying the knot for good.
Sterling K. Brown has got Mandy Moore’s back.
