Joe Otterson TV ReporterJohn Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, and Claes Bang are set to star in the upcoming Apple drama series “The New Look.”The series will be led by Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche, with Maisie Williams previously announced as a cast member. “The New Look” is set against the World War II Nazi Occupation of Paris when Coco Chanel’s (Binoche) reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer ends and Christian Dior (Mendelsohn) rises helping return spirit and life to the world with his ground-breaking, iconic brand.Malkovich (“The New Pope,” “Space Force,” “Places in the Heart”) will star as Lucien Lelong, President of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture whose influential eponymous fashion house employed Dior and Balmain during the Occupation. Mortimer (“ The Pursuit of Love,” “The Newsroom,” “Doll & Em”) will play Eva Colozzi, a friend, confidante and style inspiration to Coco Chanel.Bang (“The Northman,” “The Square,” “Bad Sisters”) will appear as Spatz, a.k.a Hans Von Dincklage, a Nazi operative stationed in Paris to both seduce and spy on the Parisian female elite.Malkovich is repped by WME.

The show is described as a half-hour action comedy based on the Playstation video games of the same name.In the show, a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

The season 3 finale opened with an action-packed sketch that saw her reuniting with her former co-stars -- and series creator Robin Thede breaks down how it all came together. “It was a really fun sketch for her to be a part of for a number of reasons,” Thede tells ET about getting Brunson to return for the finale, which saw her walking down a back alley in “Rain Fighter” as she’s forced to face off with Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Skye Townsend, who play various villainous hair styles. Of course, getting their former co-star back on the sketch series was no easy feat. “Quinta [had to] move mountains to be a part of the finale because she loves us and we love her,” Thede says, explaining that the actress was busy working on the ABC breakout sitcom, which first premiered in December 2021.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterKerry Washington and Delroy Lindo are set to star in a new comedy series set up at Onyx Collective on Hulu, Variety has learned.The series is titled “Unprisoned” and has received an eight-episode order. It is inspired by the life of series creator Tracy McMillan. In the show, a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom (Washington) has her life turned right-side-up when her dad (Lindo) gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.

AMC has thrown its hat into the ring of video game adaptations, with a seriesbased on the action-adventure game Alan Wake in the works.
