Neighbours makes long-awaited return with The OC’s Mischa Barton as mysterious visitor

The much-anticipated revival of Australian soap Neighbours has launched with a host of familiar faces alongside a glamorous-yet-mysterious new character played by The OC’s Mischa Barton.The new chapter of Neighbours saw fan-favourites Guy Pearce and Annie Jones reprise their roles as Mike Young and Jane Harris after the former flames rekindled their relationship in the “final” episodes of the series last July. Meanwhile characters Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) and his on-screen wife Susan (Jackie Woodburne), also returned for the first episode, alongside Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) who was intent on showing new character JJ Varga-Murphy (Riley Bryant) his book about the history of Ramsay Street.

Spinal Tap’s Derek Smalls has hit out at Barbie on his first new song in five years – listen to ‘Must Crush Barbie’ below.The band’s bassist calls the summer blockbuster the “embodiment of lukewarm water” with a press release adding that the song is a “much-needed antidote to the ubiquitous pinkness that has spilled out of movie theatres this summer and onto the high streets with wall-to-wall media coverage.”In the song, Smalls sings about the film having “too much pink” and being a waste of “film and ink”.He said: “Been spending the last year or so as Brand Ambassador for BruegelCoin, the Dutch cryptocurrency.“Since it was cratering this past spring, I was following the news more than usual, which is where I got bombarded by all the Barbie BS. I don’t know which angered me more, but it’s really hard to write a song about crypto.

Beirut has announced his first new album in four years, ‘Hadsel’.Zach Condon’s follow-up to 2019’s ‘Gallipoli’ is set to arrive on November 10 via his own Pompeii Records and is preceded by the new single ‘So Many Plans’.Per a press release, the story of ‘Hadsel’ began when Condon set out to escape to a small cabin to recover from the persistent throat issues that forced him to cancel the end of his ‘Gallipoli’ tour in 2019. In early 2020, he travelled to the island of Hadsel in the northern part of Norway, where he met a a collector and fellow organ enthusiast named Oddvar, who gave him access to the local Hadselkirke, a wooden, octagonal structure housing a church organ that dated back to the early 1800s.
