‘Starstruck’ Renewed for Season 3 at HBO Max

Leo Barraclough International Features EditorPay TV network Canal+ in Poland has greenlit a third season of local crime thriller “The Teach” after its previous runs broke ratings records, and sold around the world via the distribution arm of Studiocanal, which is also succeeding to secure international distribution for its other shows produced by Canal+ Poland. “The Teach,” which had the best ratings of any series on Canal+ in Poland, has been sold to Walter Presents in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.; Australian broadcaster SBS; New Zealand broadcaster Rialto; M7 Group, which runs pay TV and OTT services in Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania; and digital channel Polar+ in France.

Legendary DC villain Harley Quinn is back on our screens with Season 3 of the adult-animated comedy “Harley Quinn” series. Originally created as a sidekick to the Joker, Harley made her first debut in “Batman: The Animated Series” and quickly grew to stardom.

The first season will consist of seven episodes total with the fourth set to air on June 30 before becoming available to stream on Hulu.Based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, centers on Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges), who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.The series also stars John Lithgow as Harold Harper, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence, as well as Alia Shawkat as Angela Adams, Harper’s protégé.

This is not the first time Schwartz has been at the helm of a show based on a DC property, as she served as the showrunner on the final two seasons of “Arrow” at The CW.

HBO Max has ordered a second season of Tokyo Vice from Endeavor Content and WOWOW, Japan’s leading pay TV player. It stars Ken Watanabe and Ansel Elgort and hails from creator and writer/executive producer J.T. Rogers.

Selome Hailu “Tokyo Vice,” the crime drama series based on Jake Adelstein’s 2009 memoir of the same name, has been renewed for a second season at HBO Max.The series stars Ansel Elgort as Adelstein, an American journalist who reports on the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat in the late ‘90s, descending daily into the underbelly of the city. Ken Watanabe, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, Ella Rumpf, Hideaki Ito, Show Kasamatsu and Tomohisa Yamashita also starred in Season 1.“We could not be more excited to bring the passionate fans of the show another season to continue this intriguing and suspenseful crime story set in one of the most vibrant and beautiful cities in the world,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max.
