“Star Wars” is set to make a grand return this June with the highly-anticipated Disney+ series “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” A recent feature from Entertainment Weekly has shed light on the character played by actress Dafne Keen (“Logan”), a young Jedi, the Padawan of Lee Jung-jae’s Jedi Master Sol. The series revolves around the enigmatic murder mystery of multiple Jedi, a case that Sol is determined to solve.

As we mentioned yesterday, Zoe Saldana’s next movie is the gripping immigration drama, “The Absence of Eden,” Directed by Marco Perego, in the film, Garrett Hedlund plays an ICE Agent struggling with the moral dilemmas of border security, and Saldana stars as an undocumented woman fighting to escape a ruthless cartel (Adria Arjona co-stars). In the film, the two characters eventually cross paths and work together to save an innocent girl’s life (see the trailer below).

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Hit faith-based drama “The Chosen,” which just launched its fourth season in theaters via a partnership with Fathom Events, is already prepping the start of production for Season 5 next month. Variety has confirmed that cameras will begin rolling on “The Chosen” Season 5 in Utah starting April 11; the series will shoot there for six weeks before shifting to the show’s home base in Texas for the remainder of the production. “The Chosen” has been mapped out as a seven-season series; for Season 5, the show will pick up where Season 4 left off, during Holy Week before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The project, centered on fighter pilots in the “Star Wars” universe, was first announced at the end of 2020 and was put on the calendar for a December 2023 theatrical release. By September 2022, however, Disney had pulled the title from its release schedule. Variety reported last May that “Rogue Squadron” was no longer in active development at Lucasfilm.

“Rogue Squadron” may not be dead after all, but according to Patty Jenkins, “Wonder Woman 3” (or another “Wonder Woman” movie in the new DCU) certainly is. On TCM‘s “Talking Pictures” podcast, the director confirmed she’s done making “Wonder Woman” movies for DC.
