Staff at Scotland's biggest holiday park say 'every day is like Christmas'

Staff at Scotland's biggest holiday park have revealed that their job is so much fun that it feels like "Christmas every day". Workers at Craig Tara have spoken about their life-changing experiences at the Haven super-park, which houses a massive 1,400 caravans.
The popular holiday spot has seen an unprecedented demand following the pandemic, with staycations more popular than ever before. Holidaymakers now rush to secure a spot at the multi-purpose resort, located on the beautiful South Ayrshire coastline, just four miles outside of Ayr.
And for the thousands who travel to spend their summers by the seaside, they are welcomed by a team of around 750 staff who do their best to help them make memories. The vast site features 48 main attractions, including five restaurants, indoor pools with slides, and a large adventure village with sky jumps and climbing frames.
General manager Sean Rafter, 39, first arrived on the scene in November 2021, ahead of the park preparing for its first normal season since Covid. The boss had previously been a top player in the Frankie and Benny's chain, overseeing 120 of the popular family diners.
And he admits the move to the all-singing, all-dancing holiday park even took him by surprise. Speaking to our sister title Ayrshire Live last February, he said: "Before I took on the role, I did not know that these places existed, certainly the scale of Craig Tara. And when they talked me through and let me visit it I was like, 'this place is brilliant'. It's Christmas every day here."
