TV favourite Stacey Dooley surprised fans with her pregnancy news this month but she did give fans an unwitting heads-up months ago. Stacey announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a snap of her growing bump after hiding it from fans for many weeks. The 35 year old is expecting her first baby with professional dancer Kevin Clifton after the pair met on BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing.
Despite fans failing to have noticed her growing bump, the documentary maker had shared a telling comment much earlier on. In her W Show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over last year, a very subtle hint was dropped that her and Kevin, 39, had been talking about having a baby. The former Strictly star was asked if the couple were planning an engagement to which she replied: “Kev and I have been together for two years.
"I don’t think I want to get married. I think I’d be more interested in starting a family than getting married." The comment could easily have been missed by fans and Stacey cleverly hid her pregnancy on Instagram until she was ready to announce the news earlier this week. Stacey posted regularly to her 1 million followers in recent months but gave no hints of her pregnancy.
The star was clever to share several snaps that she didn’t herself feature in and any pictures she was in she covered her growing bump with baggy outfits and was never pictured from the side that could have thrown light on her exciting news. In a recent video with comedy legend Ricky Tomlinson, Stacey was seen dancing with him but managed to avoid any attention by wearing a black loose-fitting dress and a yellow bag across her front, detracting from attention to her middle.
