Squid have teamed up with Tim Key to record the audio of Paul Ewen’s story Lessons, which is available to listen to now.The story was first featured on a pamphlet inside vinyl copies of the band’s new album ‘O Monolith’, which came out last month, while Squid guitarist Anton Pearson has written accompanying music for the audio read by UK poet, screenwriter and comedian Key, which is free to listen to on Bandcamp and YouTube.“We’ve loved working with these two people we really admire,” Pearson said of the release in a press statement.You can listen to the new audio recording below.Elaborating on the collaboration, Pearson said: “John Fahey’s story insert to his 1967 album ‘The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death’, inspired the project, and after reading and listening to Paul Ewen’s amazing work (London Pub Reviews, How to be a Public Author) and talking to him, we found he had a great understanding of our work and exciting ideas for the project.“He said he wanted to write a story about an out of touch geography teacher and it doesn’t get much more exciting than THAT! Quavo has confirmed a release date and full details of his forthcoming album, ‘Rocket Power’.The album was confirmed earlier this year, and has now been locked down for an August 14 release date.Announcing ‘Rocket Power’ in May, Quavo described the album as “my therapy” following the death of Migos bandmate Takeoff.“This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now,” he wrote in an Instagram post. Ahead of its August debut, ET has the exclusive trailer for the project, which chronicles the harrowing story of a young girl who was kidnapped by a trusted teacher that led to a nationwide manhunt. Only 15 years old at the time, Thomas was first abducted by her mentor-turned-abuser Tad Cummins in 2017, before the two spent 39 days on the run as they traveled 1900 miles from her hometown of Culleoka, Tennessee, to a remote cabin in Northern California. After the two made headlines across the country, the two were found, with Cummins arrested and eventually pleading guilty to charges related to transporting a minor across state lines with intent to engage in criminal sexual activities and obstruction of justice.Her perpetrator was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2019, with Thomas telling the court at the time «the effects have been devastating and permanent, and they are not over.»  Now, years later, Lifetime is re-teaming with activist and executive producer Elizabeth Smart for an authorized retelling of Thomas' story.
