‘Spoiler Alert’ Trailer: Jim Parsons Stars as Entertainment Journalist Michael Ausiello in Biographical Drama

In 2014, Russell Crowe made his directorial debut with “The Water Diviner,” about an Australian farmer who travels to Turkey after World War II to find his three sons who never returned. Critics weren’t high on the movie, but it fared well with audiences; at least with those who saw it.

A dramatic reveal. The cast of The Big Bang Theory have candidly discussed their reactions to Jim Parsons‘ 2018 exit from the show — and several actors said they weren’t prepared for the big change.

Can you imagine "The Big Bang Theory" without Sheldon? Probably not, given the gigantic success the character has had independently of the show, with the spinoff series of "Young Sheldon" still on-air. Now can you imagine the long-running comedy without Sheldon's romantic interest-turned-wife Amy in Mayim Bialik? Jim Parsons, who portrayed Sheldon, said he was not willing to imagine a scenario where Bialik's character was written off the program.

“The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series,” when the news broke that Parsons would leave the show after 12 seasons, and it would not continue without him, “there was a lot of crying in the room,” especially from co-star Kaley Cuoco, 36.“The Big Bang Theory” aired on CBS from 2007 to 2019, with a total of 279 episodes. The plot followed a nerdy group of friends, including  physicists Sheldon Cooper (Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), their aspiring actress neighbor Penny (Cuoco) and their pals: engineer Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg), astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar), and neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik).

Nikki Finke, the veteran entertainment journalist who founded Deadline in 2006 and helped grow it into a major player among Hollywood trades, died Sunday morning in Boca Raton, FL after a prolonged illness. She was 68.

On top of that, the trailer unveiled Christina Ricci’s role in the series, which has been shrouded in secrecy since it was announced in March. Ricci played Wednesday Addams in Barry Sonnenfeld’s two Addams family films, 1991’s “The Addams Family” and 1993’s “Addams Family Values.” In “Wednesday,” Ricci plays a teacher at Nevermore Academy, where Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) has started as a student, and where she will hone her psychic abilities.

Ellise Shafer Chloë Grace Moretz discovers a dangerous virtual reality in the official trailer for Amazon Prime Video series “The Peripheral,” from “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. In the sci-fi thriller series based on William Gibson’s novel, Moretz plays Flynne Fisher, a young woman living in the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2032 with her Marine veteran brother Burton (Jack Reynor) and ailing mother. As their mother grows sicker, Flynne and Burton make ends meet by playing paid simulations (aka sims). According to the show’s official description, “The two siblings share Burton’s avatar, ‘jockeying’ for high-paying customers to beat challenging game levels. When Burton is offered a chance to beta test a new Sim, it’s Flynne who ends up playing, pretending to be her brother. The Sim takes place in London and it tasks Flynne with breaking into a corporation known as the Research Institute—to steal a valuable secret. When the assignment goes wrong, Flynne begins to realize the Sim is more real than she ever could have imagined. The London she’s exploring exists in the future… the year 2099. And what Flynne has uncovered in the Research Institute has put her and her family in grave peril. EJ Panaligan editor Paramount+ announced a premiere date for their upcoming original series “Wolf Pack,” as well as a new teaser trailer and additional casting for the show, Variety has exclusively learned. Revealing details at New York Comic Con, Paramount+ shared news that “Wolf Pack” would premiere Thursday, January 26, 2023, the same day as “Teen Wolf: The Movie.” Alongside announced cast such as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Armani Jackson, Rodrigo Santoro, Bella Shepard and more, the streamer shared that Bailey Stender, Chase Liefeld, Hollie Bahar, Lanny Joon, Rio Mangini, Stella Smith, Zack Nelson and James Martinez have joined the show in recurring roles. Additional casting includes Amy Pietz, Bria Brimmer, John L. Adams and Sean Philip Glasgow.

EXCLUSIVE: Adeola Role (Blue Bloods), Ryan Broussard (Only Murders in the Building) and Graham Verchere (Stargirl) are set as series regulars opposite Dania Ramirez and Scott Caan in Fox’s Alert, a character-driven police procedural from The Blacklist showrunner John Eisendrath and Jamie Foxx, Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment.

Jordan Moreau Adam Driver is going Italian again. He will play racecar driver Enzo Ferrari in director Michael Mann’s upcoming drama “Ferrari,” and the first look at his transformative role has been officially released. The movie takes place during 1957, when Ferrari enters the 1,000-mile Mille Miglia race. Born in 1898, Ferrari will be around 59 years old in the film, putting him a couple decades older than Driver, who is currently 38. Here’s the official logline: “‘Ferrari’ is set during the summer of 1957. Ex-racecar driver, Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing 10 years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for one son and the acknowledgement of another. He decides to counter his losses by rolling the dice on one race – 1,000 miles across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia.”

The first two episodes of the season are set to premiere on the service Thursday, Oct. 20, with the remaining three episodes dropping weekly afterward. Wynonna Judd is opening up about her relationship with sister Ashley Judd in the wake of their mother’s death.

Wynonna Judd has insisted that she and her sister Ashley are not fighting over the contents of their late mother's will. The 58-year-old star shot to fame alongside her mother Naomi - who took her own life in April 2022 at the age of 76 after years of suffering from depression - as part of country music duo The Judds in the 1980s but questioned rumours that she and her actress sister Ashley, 54, are having a disagreement over their mother's estate because they both have a "great life" to begin with. Wynonna said: "Someone told me while I was at Ashley's house, 'Hey, did you know that they're saying this about you?' I went, 'Huh? I'm fighting with Ashley? Oh.

Wynonna Judd is opening up about the state of her sisterhood with Ashley Judd in the wake of their mother's death. As ET previously reported, Naomi Judd -- who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in April at age 76 -- did not explicitly name daughters Wynonna or Ashley in her will. The late country legend appointed her husband of more than 30 years, Larry Strickland, as executor of her estate, while rumors began to surface suggesting a rift between her famous daughters over the will. Now, in a cover story, Naomi insists «there is no argument» regarding the legal document or her relationship with Ashley.

Disney+ has released the first trailer for its forthcoming Korean crime-thriller series, Connect.The visual opens with Ha Dong-soo (Start-Up’s Jung Hae-in) jumping off of a building, later healing from the injuries he sustained during the fall. As the trailer progresses, it is revealed that Ha Dong-soo gets glimpses of the gruesome attacks committed in Seoul through his missing eye.Connect follows a man who is kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters, waking up from the ordeal to discover that they have taken one of his eyes.

The new trailer opens with Kevin Costner’s John Dutton being sworn in as Governor of Montana, and previews the chaos that immediately follows. “Yellowstone” comes from “Wind River” director Taylor Sheridan, and the show’s cast alongside Costner includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham and Gil Birmingham. Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly have been upped to series regulars. The upcoming season will also feature the return of Josh Lucas as young John Dutton alongside Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein with Kai Caster, Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay and Dawn Olivieri joining the cast.

NBC has given a series order to a currently untitled comedy from Mike O’Malley, set to star Jon Cryer. Here’s the logline for the show:  “After an amicable divorce, Jim and Julia decide to continue to raise their kids at the family home while taking turns on who gets to stay with them. Navigating the waters of divorce and child-sharing gets more complicated for Jim when the owner of his favorite sports teams enters the picture and wins Julia’s heart.”Also starring are “Scrubs” alum Donald Faison, “Suits” Abigail Spencer, Finn Sweeney and Sofia Capanna.O’Malley (“Survivor’s Remorse”) will serve as writer and executive producer.
