Very rarely do iconic horror movies escape the remake treatment at some point in their franchise legacy. Such classics as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Halloween and The Omen have all been treated (or fallen victim to, depending on your opinion) to a remake, but there are some that simply seem to be untouchable. The Exorcist, directed by the late great William Friedkin 50 years ago, is one such sacred text. However, just because everyone respects it, doesn’t mean you can’t franchise it, with The Exorcist inspiring a number of sequels, prequels and TV shows, stopping short of going for a full-blown remake.

Directed by Bucky Le Boeuf and Cooper Roberts, All You Need is Blood finds an aspiring auteur tasked with making a horror film. Bucky (Logan Riley Bruner) has dreams of becoming the next arthouse directing sensation. The problem is that the industry in his small town is lacking. When he hears about a local film contest, he and best friend Vish (Neel Sethi) dive in. The problem however, is that the film has to be a horror story and Bucky faints at the sight of blood. The duo hit the jackpot when they stumble across the start of the zombie apocalypse, but can Bucky make it artsy enough?With the main character named after Bucky, there is obviously a strong vein of biographical content to All You Need is Blood. Granted, it’s unlikely that anyone he grew up with ever turned into a zombie, but the film is a clear love letter to his time as a young struggling filmmaker.

Femme early this year at the Berlinale back in February and it is still very much among myself best of the year. The film is finally getting a UK release through Signature Entertainment in a few weeks’ time and I cannot wait to see it again.Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay lead the cast of the film which will play exclusively in cinemas from 1st December.Jules’ life and career as a drag queen is destroyed by a homophobic attack, but when he re-encounters his attacker in a gay sauna, he is presented with a chance to exact revenge.

He has now returned to film once again with Blue Light, a horror story that is very close to his heart. Inspired by an experience that he and some friends had as teenagers, Fickman uses Blue Light to explore the concepts of belief, superstition, and paranoia.

David Leitch directs the film, which is written by Drew Pearce.Ryan Gosling (Barbie, La La Land, Drive) stars as Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman who, having left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health, is drafted back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie—being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place films, Sicario)—goes missing.While the film’s ruthless producer (Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham; Ted Lasso), maneuvers to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson; Bullet Train) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt performs the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to charm his way back into Jody’s good graces.

The Crown starts to roll out on Netflix screens later this week and yesterday, 12th November, the global premiere took place in Los Angeles. Taking place at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the likes of Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana), Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip), Khalid Abdalla (Dodi Fayed), Rufus Kampa (Prince William in Part 1) and Fflyn Edwards (Prince Harry in Part 1), Ed McVey (Prince William in Part 2), Luther Ford (Prince Harry in Part 2), Meg Bellamy (Kate Middleton in Part 2), and more hit the red carpet before attending a screening of the first episode.

After a brief hiatus, beloved Australian soap, Neighbours, returned in September with its new home of Amazon Freevee.
