As Stacey Solomon returned to our screens on Tuesday (20 February) with a brand new series of Sort Your Life Out, viewers at home were quickly reduced to floods of tears as the team banded together to help a grieving dad to smile again. During the debut episode of series four, viewers were introduced to single dad Craig, who is the sole parent of young daughters Merywen and Wren following the heartbreaking loss of his wife Lois to stage 4 cancer.
Lois was sadly diagnosed with the disease shortly after Wren was born, and despite initially hoping that the family would have 18 months together, she sadly passed away after just eight.
This left Craig alone to process his grief and keep the house running, while taking care of his daughters. Understandably, things got on top of the struggling dad, and his house soon became overwhelmed with a mixture of memories, clutter and items he simply just didn’t know what to do with! Thankfully, Stacey was on hand alongside experts Dilly Carter, Robert Bent and Iwan Carrington to help empty the house and sort through every single item to make sure nothing precious was discarded, yet also giving Craig and his daughters some much needed space.
During one particularly emotional scene, Craig was reduced to tears when he came across a journal written by his wife charting their last Christmas together. He then candidly confessed that he had been making impulsive purchases, including a £700 drone, to try and fill the void left by Lois’ death and achieve a dopamine hit.
