Over five decades and eighty films, Tom Hanks has steadily become one of Hollywood’s most estimable acting talents. But not even Hanks abides by every movie he’s done; in fact, he says only four of them are “pretty good,” and he hates a few of them, too.

Harrison Ford Takes Some Blame for Clashing With Brad Pitt on ‘Devil’s Own’ Set Over the Script: ‘I Was Imposing My Point of View’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Harrison Ford is taking some responsibility for the tension that developed with Brad Pitt during the making of their 1997 thriller “The Devil’s Own.” The film, which notably marked the last directorial effort from Alan J. Pakula (“All the President’s Men,” “Klute”), earned mixed reviews but grossed $140 million worldwide. Ford has often said in past interviews that it was difficult filming “The Devil’s Own.” When Esquire magazine recently asked why, Ford said it was due to creative differences he had with Pitt. “Heh. Yeah, I remember why,” Ford said. “Brad developed the script. Then they offered me the part. I saved my comments about the character and the construction of the thing—I admired Brad. First of all, I admire Brad. I think he’s a wonderful actor. He’s a really decent guy. But we couldn’t agree on a director until we came to Alan Pakula, who I had worked with before but Brad had not.”

has officially dropped — and it's jam-packed with signs of what's ahead and hat tips to what the characters left behind… or did they? From the start, fans see Carrie Bradshaw unboxing her iconic bird headpiece from her wedding and trying her hand at boiling an egg in her kitchen, a place that once only served as an extra closet. As the beloved New York City writer leans on her signature coping mechanisms — namely going on a shoe spree at Bergdorf Goodman — it seems like Carrie is still steadying her footing after the death of her husband, Mr. Big, a year earlier. «I thought I was doing so well,» she says.

Tom Hanks Doesn’t Love Every Tom Hanks Film: I Have Acted in ‘Some Movies That I Hate’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Not even Tom Hanks loves every Tom Hanks movie. And he knows you don’t either. The two-time Oscar winner recently participated in a lengthy discussion with The New Yorker (via IndieWire) and got honest about the different factors that are at play when it comes to his experiences with his own movies. “Ok, let’s admit this: We all have seen movies that we hate,” Hanks said. “I have been in some movies that I hate. You have seen some of my movies and you hate them.” Hanks continued, “Here are the five points of the Rubicon that are crossed by anybody who makes movies: The first Rubicon you cross is saying yes to the film. Your fate is sealed. You are going to be in that movie. The second Rubicon is when you actually see the movie that you made. It either works and is the movie you wanted to make, or it does not work and it’s not the movie you wanted to make.”

Tom Stoppard’s ‘Leopoldstadt’ Shaping Up As A Series: Patrick Marber Scripting For Stephen Daldry To Direct With Amblin’s Steven Spielberg EP

EXCLUSIVE: This is early stage, no deals are done and it might not land until the strike’s over, but the most celebrated play to come along in a good long time is to be turned into a limited TV series with top talent. The play is Sir Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt, which had a successful West End run before moving to Broadway last September. I’ve heard that Amblin and executive producer Steven Spielberg are shopping it with Patrick Marber adapting (the Closer writer/director was the play’s original director when it opened in London and he directed the current Broadway incarnation also), and the series will be directed by Stephen Daldry, The Crown multiple Emmy winner.

Ed Sheeran Brings Out Luke Combs for Surprise Duet of 'Life Goes On' at 2023 ACM Awards

Ed Sheeran just made his debut at the 58th annual ACM Awards and he delivered a powerful performance with some help from Luke Combs. The «Shape of You» singer hit the stage Thursday night at the Ford Center's The Star in Frisco, Texas, and performed «Life Goes On» while strumming his guitar and rocking an appropriately country denim ensemble.Sheeran turned the number — off his just-released album — into a duet with Combs, who joined the English singer on stage in a surprise appearance that gave the song a fantastic country music flair. After the unexpected pairing, host Garth Brooks took the stage to ask the artists about their collaboration and how they made it come together.«We met like 2018, I'd heard Luke's music through a friend… and we've just been friends for years now,» Sheeran said, smiling, «and it's been great.»Sheeran's performance comes exactly one week after a verdict sided with him in a copyright trial over his «Thinking Out Loud» track. A New York City jury ultimately found that the 32-year-old singer did not copy Marvin Gaye's 1973 hit, «Let's Get It On,' for his 2014 hit track. After the verdict was reached, Sheeran, who was forced to miss his grandmother's funeral in Ireland to attend the trial, publicly released a statement about his win and the case as a whole.»I am obviously very happy with the outcome of the case, and it looks like I'm not going to have to retire from my day job after all — but, at the same time, I am unbelievably frustrated that baseless claims like this are allowed to go to court at all," Sheeran's statement read.
