Manager Erik ten Hag could welcome Luke Shaw back into the equation for Manchester United's trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday.
United, who will be going in search of a third successive Premier League win, confirmed on Wednesday morning that the England international has returned to training at Carrington. He has been sidelined since August with a muscular problem and has been sorely missed.
United said Shaw had trained with the 'main group', offering encouragement that he could make the squad for the clash with the Toffees. He has not played since the Reds' 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on August 19.

So often a source of reliability last season, Shaw's presence has been sorely missed, both defensively and offensively. He played a key part in helping United rack up almost 30 clean sheets last season, as well as forming a blossoming partnership down the left wing with Marcus Rashford.
Shaw also contributed as a makeshift centre-back last term, meaning it would be naive to rule out the prospect of him making his return in that position, covering for the injured Lisandro Martinez. His ability to progress the ball from deep may result in Ten Hag deploying him in the centre of defence, possibly alongside fellow countryman Harry Maguire.
Regardless of where Ten Hag chooses to deploy him, United fans are delighted at the fact he could be back involved as soon as Sunday, which would be a huge boost ahead of what promises to be a relentless period. The trip to Goodison Park will mark the first of 10 matches the Reds must navigate their way through
