Two Irvine sisters are aiming to complete a 100-mile charity cycle as a tribute to their grandfathers.
Caitie and Holly McCubbin want to complete the gruelling challenge before they go back to school on Monday.
To date, both girls completed ten cycles and already clocked up 94.07 miles towards their total. They even managed to get the SNP MP for Central Ayrshire Dr Philippa Whitford to join them for a very wet and windy cycle earlier in the month.
Caitie, eight, chose to fundraise for British Heart Foundation as their mother's father, Michael, has suffered two heart attacks. While her sister Holly, seven, decided to support Ataxia UK after their father's dad, Be,n was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia, a rare degenerative neurological condition, in 2014.
The sisters' dad Lee, 33, who joined his daughters on this adventure, shared with Ayrshire Live: "Both their mum Carlyn and I were incredibly proud of the girls when they said they wanted to do a charity cycle challenge. We know our girls are incredibly kind and compassionate, but it was a surprise they were willing to commit to cycling 100 miles each.
"They had only just started confidently riding their bikes without stabilisers over their Easter holidays, but it was good to see their determination. The fact that it was for charities with special meaning due to my father's condition and my father-in-law's health was all the more special.
"It is safe to say both their grandparents are really proud of the girls. No one doubted they would be able to achieve their goal."
Together Caitie and Holly raised over £700 while cycling and they both couldn't be more grateful for all the donations.
Holly said: "I am raising money for my pappy. I love him lots and lots and want more
