Simon Cowell has opened up about feeling "emotional" and "quite nervous" as he took on the role of walking former X Factor star Lucy Spraggan down the aisle. Lucy, 32, known from her time on The X Factor, tied the knot to her partner, Emilia Smith earlier this month.
The couple had previously announced their engagement in March and it was revealed that Britain's Got Talent judge Simon would be giving Lucy away. The singer previously told Fabulous Magazine that she asked Simon, 64, to give her away while she was staying with him and his fiancée, Lauren Silverman.
In an exclusive chat with Hello magazine, Simon has now expressed his honour, saying: "I was very honoured to be asked to walk Lucy down the aisle. I considered it a very big deal. As soon as she asked me, I said 'yes'."

Simon then shared his feelings about the special day. He said: "On the day I was actually quite nervous because I've never been asked before. And then very proud and happy and emotional."
Describing his connection with Lucy, h said: "The best way of describing our relationship is that it feels like we've been friends for life. Being asked to walk her down the aisle made me realise the significance and importance of that role.
"And throughout the day, I was thinking even though it's been a relatively short time, we do feel like family, and we share a very special bond."
Lucy recounted the emotional ceremony to Hello: "Simon and I were standing outside the door and my song started playing. I was already crying, and Simon definitely had a tear in his eye."
