Detectives have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found at his home in Sale. Police and forensic specialists remain at the home.
The discovery was made on Tuesday night when residents reported police and paramedics attended a terraced home on Belgrave Road. Police were still at the scene on Friday morning.
Today (Friday) residents described their shock at the death, believed to be of a man in his 40s who was living alone at the time of his death. He has not yet been named.

The man visited the nearby Co-op when it opened every morning. He was said to have visited the convenience store on the morning of his death.
He usually dressed smartly but over the last few months his appearance deteriorated, they said.
A police community support officer was on guard outside the home this morning. One panel of the front door was missing.
One resident, who declined to be named, told the Manchester Evening News: "I first realised something had happened on Tuesday night when there were two police vans and forensics here. It was a shock. Nobody would say what had happened. I'm a single mum and it's quite worrying.
"He's a very quiet man and actually I've never spoken to him."
Another said he had tried to speak to the man and ask if he was alright but the man never replied.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 6.30pm on Tuesday 12 March 2024, officers were called to a property on Belgrave Road, Sale.
"Sadly, a man was found deceased. His family are being supported and enquiries are currently ongoing."
GMP has not yet ruled out foul play.
