Sheridan Smith split from Alex Lawler as she was 'still in love with ex fiancé'

Sheridan Smith reportedly parted ways from her boyfriend of four months Alex Lawler because she was "still in love" with her ex-fiancé Jamie Horn.The 40 year old actress had been dating her boyfriend Alex for several months, but the couple split in early January with Sheridan deleting photos of them together from her social media. It has now been claimed that the reason things didn't work out between Sheridan and Alex was because she was still pining for her ex, Jamie, with whom she shares 20 month old son Billy.

"Sheridan was still very much in love with Jamie when she reunited with Alex, and she was still grieving for the end of their relationship," a source said. They added to Closer magazine that Sheridan felt as though she had "rushed" into the romance with Alex.They told the publication: "While she initially tried to pretend she was OK, it became very clear it was more of a rebound fling and that things weren't going to work out as she'd hoped." Earlier this month, The Sun reported that Sheridan had split from 40 year old Alex, with a source calling the break-up free from "drama".The source said: "There was no major drama, and they both agreed their romance had run its course. "Sheridan was delighted when she rekindled her old flame with Alex and it was a wonderful reunion for them both.

"But after a while, it was clear that they would be better off as friends. She is single now and focusing on herself and her son." Sheridan made her red carpet debut with Alex – who she first dated 20 years ago - in November last year and had previously shared photos to Instagram of the couple on a date night.
