It's been 20 years since Sharon Osbourne first appeared on The X Factor's judging panel, yet the star is still known as a legend of the show - which left screens in 2018. Famed for sitting alongside the likes of Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh as they searched for upcoming singers, you'd like to think the judging panel all got along like a house on fire. However, things weren't so simple, Sharon, 71, has revealed in an exclusive chat with OK!, admitting that she and Simon weren't so close away from the cameras.
“Look, I loved the show and so many of the people I worked with, some of whom became lifelong friends," she said. As we probed whether one of these friends was Simon, she replied: “No, he’s never been a friend. I thank him for giving me opportunities.
I did well by him and he did well by me. But he’s never been a buddy. Would I ring him for a chat? No, never.” Sharon judged the show between 2004-2007, and then again in 2013, 2016 and 2017.
Sharing which judges from the show have been enduring friends, she told us: “Nicole Scherzinger. I absolutely idolise her. I’m in awe of her talent.
She’s got the biggest heart, an amazing woman. Louis [Walsh] is a complete poppet. He’s a family friend.
And I just adore Gary Barlow.” What about Dannii Minogue? “Well, we simply have nothing in common. Dannii didn’t care for me. Possibly because not everyone likes to hear the truth.
“The fact is, some women love to be around the guys.
That’s not me. I love men but don’t bleep with me. A lot of men don’t care for a woman with a reputation for being a ballbuster." It's not the first time that Sharon has mentioned tension between her and Dannii, who served as a judge from 2007 to 2010.
