How Looking Back at ‘Boy Meets World’ Allowed Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle and Rider Strong to Move Forward

Will Friedle isn’t the type of person to answer his phone while at a lunch — especially at a work lunch. In fact, he may have better manners than anyone I’ve ever met. But this was an exception. We’d been sitting for about 10 minutes — Friedle, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and me — gathered around a corner booth in a Studio City restaurant. “Oh, my gosh, I’m sorry, I have to take this,” he says after pulling his iPhone out of his pocket. He quickly turns it around, showing the group the names that are scrolling across the screen: “Bill & Bonnie Daniels.”

‘Morning Joe’ Cackles at ‘Just How Clueless Trump Is’ After Drug Crimes Flub on Fox News (Video)

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough couldn’t help but laugh at Donald Trump’s confusion over his own policy. In an interview with Fox News’s Brett Baier that aired Tuesday night, Baier tripped Trump up by deflating his recollection of Alice Johnson, a woman sentenced to jail for selling marijuana. The former president said he used his pardon powers to commute Johnson’s sentence in 2018, but Baier quickly pointed out that Johnson would face the death penalty under Trump’s proposal of imposing the death penalty on convicted drug dealers.“That’s a perfect example of just how clueless Donald Trump is on policy.

Cyndi Lauper says she initially rejected recording 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' because a man wrote the song

Cyndi Lauper revealed that she initially objected to recording "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" because the song was written by a man. The 69-year-old singer's iconic 1983 hit was originally written and recorded as a demo by musician Robert Hazard in 1979. In the new documentary "Let the Canary Sing," which chronicles Lauper's life and career, she recalled that her producer Rick Chertoff took her to see Hazard perform "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" live.

How Cyndi Lauper became a pop star — thanks to pro wrestling

Cyndi Lauper’s debut solo single, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” was flopping so badly that her record company had given up on it.But the singer and her then-manager and boyfriend, David Wolff, still believed in what would become her signature song. Given only two weeks to make the single a hit, Wolff came up with the idea for her to partner with wrestling legend Captain Lou Albano — who played Lauper’s father in the “Girls” video — to promote her music via the World Wrestling Federation, the precursor to today’s World Wrestling Enterprises.
