The security guard who allegedly “backhanded” Britney Spears when she approached NBA played Victor Wembanyama will not face charges from Las Vegas police.
The pop star was reportedly hit in the face on Wednesday night (July 5) by Damian Smith, who is the security director for Victor‘s NBA team the San Antonio Spurs.
She and her security team filed a police report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department over the incident. However, they have opted out of pursuing charges.

A spokesperson for the department issued a very brief statement to Page Six, providing an update on the investigation.
“No charges will be filed against the person involved,” they said.
The decision comes after Britney issued a statement, claiming that she had yet to receive an apology from everyone involved. She also pointed out that her security team has avoided assaulting fans who approach her in public.
Victor has also spoken out, sharing his side of the story and his recollection of the event.
