Historians Tim Dunn and Siddy Holloway are back discovering hidden gems beneath our feet as Secrets of the London Underground returns for a fourth series.
The duo visit the likes of London Paddington, Waterloo and even get the keys to South Kentish Town, an abandoned station which closed to passengers more than a century ago. But returning for another series isn’t the only big news from Siddy, as she’s also expecting a baby. “I’m 33-weeks,” says the actor and presenter.
“And this is our first baby, so we’re excited. He was in my belly the whole time we shot Secrets of the London Underground. It wasn’t panned, but we filmed the whole show whilst I was in my second trimester - which was perfect timing.” Siddy, who was born in Iceland, moved to the UK in 2010 to pursue acting, began working at the London Transport Museum in 2015, but admits she’s always been intrigued by the history of London.
“My stage name is ‘Holloway’ after Holloway railroad station,” she reveals. “I was a London tour guide before I joined the London Transport Museum and I found the history of the city so fascinating. “Every time we film another series, I have to pinch myself.
We started doing this show in 2021, and we’ve come such a long way.
The fact there’s still an audience we can wow feels like a privilege. Working with Tim is such an easy collaboration and there are still so many more secrets about the Underground to reveal.” She especially loves being given special access to stations that have been closed to the public for years. “I feel like Indiana Jones,” laughs Siddy.
