Alistair Appleton is a familiar face from the BBC's Escape to the Country, having been a mainstay on the show since 2007, earning him a dedicated fan base. He presents the show alongside names including Ginny Buckley and Nicki Chapman. Born and raised in Hampshire, 54 year old Alistair graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 2:1 in English Literature.

Apple Tree Productions, the Danish company headed by “The Killing” producer Piv Bernth and Lars Hermann, is producing the show, and Danish broadcaster TV2 is on board, Bernth told Variety at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

Manic Street Preachers will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1994 album ‘The Holy Bible’ with a one-off screening of their concert film BePure-BeVigilant-Behave.The album was the band’s third studio record, written during a period when guitarist and lyricist Richey Edwards was struggling with addiction, depression and anorexia nervosa.For the 20th anniversary in 2014, the Manics played the album in full on a ten-date tour, including at London’s Roundhouse.
