While appearing on The Rick Eisen Show, Seann played a round of truth or dare and he was asked if it was true that American Pie was his first feature-length film and if he was only paid four figures for his role.
Seann revealed that he was only paid $8,000 for the movie and that he had to get a job a zoo afterwards.
“I think so, yeah, because I remember afterwards I bought a used Thunderbird for like $5,000 or maybe $6,000, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, baby’,” Seann recalled. “I don’t know what happened to the other $2,000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy, so maybe it was even less than $8,000.”
Seann also said that he had one other job while “waiting for the movie to come out” before working at the L.A. Zoo, but he only worked there for “two days.”
The first American Pie was released in 1999 and while it only cost $11 million to make, it raked in a whooping $235 million in the global box office.
In 2011, THR reported that Seann and co-star Jason Biggs were paid $5 million to appear in the fourth American Pie movie, American Reunion.

Then, of course, came Lucas and Spielberg, who kicked off the blockbuster revolution — the transformation of movies from reality into fantasy.
