Scots university students have been praised for a 'phenomenal' performance on BBC quiz show University Challenge.
The group of Edinburgh students successfully made it through to the second round after scoring an amazing 320 points in the new series of the show on Monday evening.
The show, hosted by Amol Rajan, has been branded the toughest quiz team tournament on TV but Stafford, Hadley, Uttamchandani and McGovern had viewers impressed with their knowledge.
As reported in Edinburgh Live, university students face off against another team of brainiacs during the programme, which is now in its 61st year.
The University of Edinburgh team made it safely to the second round and social media users were quick to praise their 'phenomenal' performance.
One person said: "A phenomenal performance from Edinburgh. I liked that they were quick to pass on bonuses they didn't know (others can learn from this) kept the game moving at a rapid pace and gave their opponents a chance to get the score they needed. Well done both teams."
A second person added: "Wow, incredible performance from Edinburgh that, might just be the best performance of the series thus far! (And we've had many great ones!) Best of luck to them in the next round!"
While a third wrote: "320 was an incredible score from Edinburgh tonight."
