Scots singer Lulu given 'frightening diagnosis' by GP which prompted her to make huge life change

Scots singer Lulu is set to appear on tonight's episode of Michael McIntyre's The Wheel tonight.
The show gives contestants the chance to win an amazing cash prize by taking on The Wheel but the difference is that there are celebrity experts helping answer the questions.
And tonight it's Shout singer Lulu, who is originally from Scotland.
The 75-year-old looks the picture of health, however, she has previously opened up about getting frightening diagnosis from her doctor which prompted her to make drastic lifestyle changes.
Her Glasgow-born mother passed away to stomach cancer at the age of 68 and her heartbreaking loss made her become conscious of her own health.
Sadly, Lulu's father Eddie passed away from high cholesterol, which led her to monitor her own where she made a shocking discovery.
She previously told The Daily Star: “My GP told me that I had raised cholesterol. That really frightened me, as it's one of the biggest risk factors for coronary heart disease.
The diagnosis caused her to reflect on her father's death, and she said: "My father's death - at the age of 71 - was terrible. I loved him dearly. He had worked in the meat market in Glasgow for years and was a great singer.
"Unfortunately, he didn't really take care of his body and he'd had plenty of health warnings that he ignored.
"So even though I've always tried to look after myself, when I discovered that I had raised cholesterol, memories of my dad's illness spurred me on and I made sure that I did something about it."
After learning of her diagnosis, Lulu made significant changes to her diet in an effort to lower her cholesterol. The Shout singer binned the ice-cream from her freezer and stopped putting butter on sandwiches in a bid to make health
