Scots cops record almost 1,700 offences under new abuse laws

Almost 1,700 offences have been recorded under new laws that criminalise coercive and controlling behaviours used by abusers.
The figures come from Police Scotland’s quarter four results, which show that 1,681 crimes, with 1,158 detected, were recorded under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act that was introduced in April 2019.
