An Ayrshire venue has bagged a coveted award this week.
Dundonald Links has been crowned Scotland’s Best Golf Hotel at the prestigious World Golf Awards just two years after unveiling its new-look luxury accommodation offering.
The accolade was announced at a ceremony at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Links on Monday, October 23.
The popular coastal layout was acquired by Darwin Escapes in 2019 and underwent a £25m investment that included the construction of brand-new luxury lodges, rooms and amenities to create the ultimate Scottish stay-and-play destination.
The Irvine venue's collection of two, four and six-bedroom lodges are tailored for families and groups. The lodges, which each boast full self-catering facilities and en suite bathrooms, are centred around putting greens so that guests can enjoy golf together long after the course closes.
Alternatively, guests can opt for one of the venue’s modern rooms, which blend luxury with the natural beauty of the Ayrshire coast.
Equipped with everything guests expect from a world-class hotel, each room also includes an exclusive outdoor terrace and a purpose-built golf storage area.
Regarded as one of the region’s finest restaurants, the Canny Crow proved key to the venue's win. Overlooking the golf course from the first floor of the modern clubhouse, the versatile restaurant is equally suited for fine dining and casual meals. Meanwhile, behind the bar sits a unique whisky room where guests can try over a hundred whiskies from around the globe.
