A man has been jailed after officers discovered large amounts of class A and B drugs following 'intelligence-led' raids across Aberdeen. Anthony Newman, 31, was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh after officers found cocaine at a flat and cannabis at two further properties in the city in January this year.
Officers seized cocaine valued at around £124,000 from a property on Palmerston Road. A further £6,500 worth of cannabis was found after searches at two addresses on Jasmine Terrace and Short Loanings.
Newman was arrested on Friday June 10, and today was sentenced to four years in prison following his conviction. Police Scotland have thanked the public for the 'essential' role they played in assisting authorities with their investigations.
Detective Inspector Robin Sim of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit said: “We welcome the conviction and sentencing of Newman for his involvement in the supply of controlled drugs.

We will use all resources at our disposal to target those involved in the drugs supply chain, recover illegal substances and disrupt the supply chain.
“The public continue to play a vital role in assisting our investigations into drugs-related activity and anyone with concerns about drugs, or who has information about those involved in this type of crime should contact Police Scotland through 101.
