Michele Amabile Angermiller After examining the dynamics of competing businesses like Netflix and Blockbuster, Coca Cola and Pepsi and Facebook and Snapchat, superstar Taylor Swift’s well-publicized rivalry with music mogul Scooter Braun over ownership of master recordings of her music is the subject of the latest season of “Business Wars,” a podcast hosted by David Brown on Wondery. “Business Wars: Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun” debuted three episodes at midnight ET (Sept. 7) on Amazon’s Wondery+ with the titles “On the Outside” (available on all podcast platforms), “Bad Blood” and “Revenge of the Swifties.” The wide release of the second episode arrives on Sept. 14, concluding with episode three a week later. An episode of bonus material is also in the works.

Country music stars Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line played their last show as a duo. The two gave their final performance as Florida Georgia Line during the Minnesota State Fair on Wednesday night, ending the show with one of their biggest hits, "Cruise."  Hubbard and Kelley have been a duo for a decade, with their first album "Here's to the Good Times" released in 2012.  Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley played their final show as a band at the Minnesota State Fair.

Tig Notaro is the latest star to join the cast of The Morning Show!

BreAnna Bell Tig Notaro is joining “The Morning Show” for Season 3 in a recurring role, Variety has confirmed. The “One Mississippi” creator and star will portray Amanda Robinson, the chief of staff to corporate chief Paul Marks (played by Jon Hamm). Other previously announced cast members include Hamm and Nicole Beharie, as well as returning star Julianna Margulies. Season 3 is currently in production. In Season 2, viewers found “The Morning Show” team dusting themselves off following the havoc wreaked by Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon), and entering a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play.

Thania Garcia After two years of a pandemic-induced hiatus, the Pencils of Promise gala will return for an in-person ceremony on Oct. 20 at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. The benefit for the organization, a non-profit that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world, will be hosted by Scooter Braun and Brad Haugen of Westbrook Media. New global ambassador Meadow Walker is set to receive this year’s activist award to honor her advocacy work for the organization.

For Virginia songwriter and independent artist Anees, it led to a fortuitous meeting — and eventual collaboration — with Scooter Braun.    The music mogul is no stranger to the creative process, and has been credited as a songwriter and producer on tracks by his longtime clients Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, as well as Ed Sheeran, and on the latest album by Demi Lovato, “Holy Fvck,” for which he served as EP and is credited as a producer on five songs alongside Warren “Oak” Felder. But Anees’ song “Leave Me” marks a public acknowledgment of Braun’s work as a co-writer, contributing lyrics that are clearly drawing from his own recent experience of splitting from his wife of seven years. Anees shared a snippet of the song via Instagram on Aug. 21, writing, “The universe has sent me a million signs that this song will absolutely shake ground. … This song has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and it’s not even released yet. Especially as an independent artist, some of these blessings feel too good to be true … like the fact that I got to write this song with my brotha @scooterbraun. Truly a special experience.”
