The School of Rock may be back with Black.
In an interview with JOE, Jack Black was asked about his 2003 hit film, School of Rock. He raised hopes when he responded, “I’m ready.”
“I wish there’d be a School of Rock 2: Electric Boogaloo, he said, giving a shout-out to the 1984 sequel to Breakin’, titled Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo.
For the uninitiated, in School of Rock, Black played Dewey Finn, a substitute teacher who enlists some misfit students to form a rock band. The film later inspired a Broadway musical adaptation
Black has teased a sequel before, but has always backed away from his comments in later interviews, so fans shouldn’t get hopes too high. Any sequel would have to have the original rock students assume the role of parents, since they are largely in their 30s now.

Michael Jackson have attended the premiere of the West End production MJ The Musical. The musical has transferred to the UK following its success in the US – where it was made in collaboration with the Jackson estate and has gone on to earn 10 Tony award nominations.Like the American performance, the UK edition stars the same actors – including Myles Frost as MJ, Ashley Zhanghaza as his father Joseph Jackson, and Mitchell Zhangaza as Michael. The premiere of the London show took place at the Prince Edward Theatre in the West End on Wednesday night (27 March), and saw the late musician’s children in attendance.27-year-old Prince, 25-year-old Paris, and 22-year-old Blanket were seen together on the night – marking one of their first appearances all together having kept relatively low-key profiles.Prince and Paris were born to the world-famous singer and his ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who were married from 1996 to 2000. Blanket – whose real name is Bigi – was born with the help of an unidentified surrogate. As highlighted by The Independent, other famous faces at the premiere last night included iconic composer Hans Zimmer, Strictly Come Dancing stars Arlene Phillips and Darcey Bussell, and television presenter Jeremy Vine. For Bigi, the appearance at the event comes just days after it was reported that he had taken his grandmother to court in an attempt to prevent her from using funds from his father’s estate as part of a legal battle. The news broke after reports emerged that the late pop legend’s son was filing a legal injunction against his grandmother.
filed by Bigi, formerly known as Blanket, show that the 93-year-old matriarch is trying to tap into funds from Michael’s estate to challenge a $600 million music catalog deal.Katherine’s side argues that the estate should cover her $500,000 legal fees, while Bigi disagrees.“… it seems clear to [Katherine] that the Executors are holding all of the assets in the Estate in order to keep control over them, and to avoid the more liberal distribution requirements of the Trust,” says a new complaint filed by Katherine’s attorney, according to People. But close family sources say this is not really about Bigi, now 22, trying to deny his grandmother anything.Rather, it’s about trying to wean the extended family off Michael’s legacy.“Bigi isn’t going against his grandmother. Bigi is really trying to protect his grandmother in the same manner that Michael did, which is to protect her from the Jacksons!” a longtime family associate told The Post.“It’s the same s–t,” the associate said, alleging that some relatives get money from the trust via soft-hearted Katherine.

Lise Pedersen Speaking to Variety ahead of her film’s world premiere at leading European doc fest CPH:DOX, Lisa Jackson was keen to emphasize that “Wilfred Buck” is what she calls a “feel-good story” despite addressing dark issues related to Canada’s colonial past. Leaving Neverland director Dan Reed has described the script for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic Michael as “startlingly disingenuous”.Michael has been confirmed to receive a theatrical release in the United States on April 18, 2025, per production house Lionsgate. A UK release date is yet to be announced.Given the project’s connection to the Jackson estate, it is unclear whether the film will explore the most controversial aspects of the singer’s life, including the allegations of child sexual abuse. However, according to Reed, who has read a draft of the script, the film makes a point to discredit Wade Robson and James Safechuck, the two men who allege that Jackson sexually assaulted them in the 2019 docuseries Leaving Neverland.“Jackson is only ever seen caring for children with childhood cancer, or dancing with a little girl in a wheelchair, or tucking up multiple little boys, mostly his nephews, at sleepovers,” Reed said of the script (via Variety).
