Shortly after being announced as part of the lineup at the 78th Venice Film Festival, the latest feature from Paul Schrader (“First Reformed”), “The Card Counter”, finally has its first trailer, and looks like audiences don’t even have to wait until the festival is done to see it. Starring Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe, the film is about, well, a card counter, who gives guidance to a young man who is out for revenge against a mutual enemy.

Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is returning to the world of big-budget science fiction after the fantastic “Blade Runner: 2049,” a follow-up to the original directed by Ridley Scott. His latest film “Dune,” is a remake of the classic Frank Herbert sci-fi fantasy epic that partially helped inspire many elements of George Lucas‘ original “Star Wars” trilogy.
Warner Bros on Monday released a series of character posters from Dune, its upcoming sci-fi tentpole directed by Denis Villeneuve. The pic, an update of Frank Herbert’s novel which was turned in into a 1984 movie by David Lynch, is set to have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September before it hits theaters and HBO Max day-and-date on October 22.
