Jason Momoa is campaigning for a full length director’s cut of Denis Villeneuve’s forthcoming Dune movie.The sci-fi epic, based on the first half of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name, is due for release on October 22 in the UK.And the Game Of Thrones star is already calling for a four to six hour cut to be released.“It was a cool movie,” he told The New York Times.
Denis Villeneuve is one of the few filmmakers working today that is able to make huge blockbuster films that would firmly fall in the realm of “real cinema.” With features like “Blade Runner 2049” and the upcoming “Dune,” it appears that the filmmaker is able to take a massive budget and not just deliver thrills and suspense. He’s able to inject real emotion and substance in his popcorn flicks.

Shortly after being announced as part of the lineup at the 78th Venice Film Festival, the latest feature from Paul Schrader (“First Reformed”), “The Card Counter”, finally has its first trailer, and looks like audiences don’t even have to wait until the festival is done to see it. Starring Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe, the film is about, well, a card counter, who gives guidance to a young man who is out for revenge against a mutual enemy.
