Emma Corrin, who portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales, in the fourth season of “The Crown,” revealed her script kept her from believing a lot of historical hearsay about her character during the research process.

The Crown alum Emma Corrin who famously essayed the role of Princess Diana on the show has had a big week, to say the least. After landing a Golden Globes and SAG nominations, Corrin has reportedly been cast opposite singer and actor Harry Styles in an upcoming movie.

Coming off her Golden Globe and SAG nominations for her portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown, Emma Corrin will star opposite Harry Styles (Dunkirk) in the Amazon Studios’ romantic drama My Policeman. Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts, My Policeman will be produced by Greg Berlanti, Robbie Rogers and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti-Schechter Films, in association with Cora Palfrey and Phillip Herd at Independent Film Company and MGC.

Emma Corrin screamed and jumped with delight on hearing she had been nominated for a Golden Globe on Wednesday afternoon (2 February). The Crown star shot to fame for her uncanny portrayal of Princess Diana in the Netflix hit, which also saw its star Olivia Colman get a nod for her performances as the Queen.

“Lots of my friends call me Duch, so I think it will end up being Duchy,” the Duchess of York, 61, explains. “I call myself Duchess Doodle because I’m always doodling.”
