The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, looked joyful in a new Storytime with Fergie and Friends video following her "successful" operation after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The 63 year old, known as Fergie, is continuing with various projects while she recovers from her mastectomy. The video was posted to Sarah’s YouTube channel and it was a project that she started in April 2020 during the pandemic.
It's thought it was recorded before her hospital visit. The Royal said that she was inspired to record herself reading children's books for “the children out there who just need a little bit of magic”. Her first video back following her breast cancer diagnosis was released on Monday 26 June, where she picked out the book Where Happiness Begins by Eva Eland to read.
This follows after Fergie recently underwent a "successful" operation after she discovered the breast cancer during a recent routine mammogram, which allowed "early detection". Sarah's spokesperson told OK! in a statement: "Sarah, Duchess of York was recently diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer detected at a routine mammogram screening.
"She was advised she needed to undergo surgery which has taken place successfully. The Duchess is receiving the best medical care and her doctors have told her that the prognosis is good. She is now recuperating with her family.
"The Duchess wants to express her immense gratitude to all the medical staff who have supported her in recent days. She is also hugely thankful to the staff involved in the mammogram which identified her illness, which was otherwise symptom free, and believes her experience underlines the importance of regular screening." Sarah has been a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust for more than 30
