Sandra Bullock's 'Blind Side' Co-Star Quinton Aaron Defends Her Against Calls to Revoke Her Academy Award

There have been a select few who have called for Sandra Bullock to return her Academy Award for her performance in The Blind Side.
If you don’t know, The Blind Side is the 2009 film about a wealthy white family, the Tuohy family, who allegedly adopted real life future NFL player Michael Oher out of poverty. In the film version of the story, Sandra played the matriarch of the family, Leigh Anne Tuohy, and won an Oscar for her performance.
In a new court case filed this week, the real life Michael Oher alleged that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy never actually adopted him, instead tricking him into giving up his authority to make business deals by making them his conservators at age 18.
Now, the actor who portrayed Michael Oher in the 2009 film, Quinton Aaron, is defending Sandra.

“Saying stuff like she needs to relinquish her title doesn’t make any sense,” Aaron told TMZ. “She gave a brilliant performance and that shouldn’t be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her.”
He continued, “I really feel like we live in a society today where people are so hellbent on pointing blame on people. To make a statement like that, doesn’t make any sense. Sandra Bullock didn’t have anything to do with the real story… I think that people just need to chill out, relax and let the families involved handle whatever is going on.”
About the legal situation, Quinton shared, “I didn’t know what to think. It’s news to me… unfortunately, it’s not a good turn of events,” he shared. “This movie inspired so many people, changed people’s lives, mine included. I feel for everyone involved. I’m not taking sides. I love Michael. I love the Tuohy family.”
