The annual fan bath known as Comic-Con was officially canceled Friday due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. The summer event was scheduled to run July 23 to July 26 at the San Diego Convention Center, potentially drawing 130,000 visitors from all over the world.
The spread of COVID-19 has caused worldwide shutdowns and cancellations, including everything from Burning Man and the NBA season to Hollywood productions and film festivals.

Update: 4/17/20: Comic-Con International has announced that San Diego Comic-Con 2020 is officially canceled. The event will return July 22-25, 2021. This is the first time in the convention's 50-year history that it has had to be canceled.
