As you probably know from this weekend, director/producer Matthew Vaughn is a very chatty man whe’llo reveal quite a few secrets. He already teased that he won’t direct his “Kick-Ass” reboot, but he does have a cast and director seemingly all set and he also revealed that “Deadpool 3” scares him a little bit because it has ideas similar to his “Kick-Ass” movie idea, hmmm.

Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn’s spy film, “Argylle,” is in theaters now, and it hasn’t exactly lit up the box office, but we know the director has ambitious plans for the series. He’s already said that he hopes to connect “Argylle” to the world of his other spy series, “Kingsman.” Late last year, he revealed that he has one more spy franchise in the works that could connect all three into one inter-connected spy universe.

Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is in the news for several reasons this week. One, his new spy franchise “Argylle” is in theaters now (read our review), and he’s made some comments about “Deadpool 3” that have stoked the excitement of superhero fandom.

It’s fair to say, at this point, we have a basic idea of what filmmaker Matthew Vaughn intends for “Kick-Ass 3,” or a continuation of the “Kick-Ass” franchise, anyhow. The director of “Agylle” and the “Kingsman” franchise has recently gone on record saying that more “Kick-Ass” is on the way and that he hopes to reboot the franchise.

“BS!” exclaims Bryce Dallas Howard’s spy novelist Elly Conway when she learns the real identity of the titular secret agent in “Argylle.” For once in the film, her character’s savant-like gift for understanding exactly what the audience should feel tracks. Here, that’s disbelief tinged with disappointment.

Wait, why is Matthew Vaughn on the MCU train? He’s got a Universal “Argylle” spy movie coming out soon and isn’t involved with Marvel or any of the old Marvel/Fox properties. Well, apparently, he knows a little bit about what’s in store, and on a recent episode of BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast, he evidently sang the movie’s praises, going as far as to claim it will “save” the MCU.
