Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander was reportedly booked into the  Napa County Department of Corrections on two felony charges related to an alleged bracelet theft in 2015.  The charges are separate from his misdemeanor battery and trespass conviction from Spears’ June wedding to Sam Asghari for which he served a 64-day sentence in Ventura County.  Alexander was removed from the Ventura jail to the Napa County jail by authorities on Tuesday on the arrest warrant for grand theft with the value exceeding $400 and buying/receiving stolen property issued in 2016, FOX 2 in the Bay Area reported.  Alexander, who was infamously married to the "Toxic" singer for 55 hours in 2004, allegedly swiped the $2,000 bracelet from a home in Napa, according to TMZ.  Jason Alexander was booked into the Napa County jail on Tuesday in connection to a 2016 felony arrest warrant.  (Napa County Department of Correction) He allegedly admitted to stealing the diamond bracelet and pawning it from a woman's home where he had been staying for a few weeks at the time, police said.  He pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charges connected to Spears’ wedding on Thursday and was credited with time served.  Britney Spears and Jason Alexander were married for 55 hours in 2004.  (Getty Images) The 40-year-old was arrested at Spears’ home on June 9 after attempting to crash her wedding and has remained in jail.  He is also under a criminal protective order, meaning he is barred from being within 100 yards of Spears and the security guard involved.  His bail for the felony charge has been set at $20,000, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Sam Mendes is set to be honoured by the Toronto International Film Festival.

Director Sam Mendes will receive the TIFF Ebert Director Award at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF organizers announced on Friday.Mendes will be at the festival for the Canadian Premiere of his new movie, “Empire of Light,” which stars Olivia Colman as a woman who works in a seaside movie theater in 1980s England. It is his ninth film as a director and second as writer in a career that began with the Oscar-winning “American Beauty,” which made its world premiere at TIFF in 1999.

“Empire of Light,” the latest feature film from Oscar winner Sam Mendes, has locked its European premiere with a gala screening at the 66th annual BFI London Film Festival. Starring Olivia Colman, Michael Ward, Colin Firth, Toby Jones and others, the 1980s–set film “is a powerful and poignant story about human connection and the magic of cinema,” distributor Searchlight Pictures said in a statement. The film’s stars – including Colman, Firth, and on-the-rise BAFTA winner Ward – are expected to be in attendance at the festival’s American Express Gala screening on Oct.
