Sam Faiers candidly spoke on the realities of motherhood this week as she detailed her recent traumatic experience flying home from Dubai with youngest son Edward, who is almost one year old.The former TOWIE star, 32, who spent her first ever night apart from the tot last week, explained that she almost 'burst into tears' during the long-haul trip, which takes just under eight hours, as the little one struggled to settle. She had enjoyed the holiday away with husband Paul Knightley and their two older children too; Paul, seven, and five-year-old Rosie, and shared a number of sunny pictures to social media.
But a dose of reality came as energy-filled Edward was keen to be on his feet for the flight home rather than sitting still, with his worn-out mum attempting to find things on the flight to help keep him entertained. Admitting she was 'at the end of her tether' while discussing the ordeal on her podcast, The Sam & Billie Show, with sister Billie Shepherd, Sam recalled locking herself and Edward in the plane's bathroom.
"I was playing with the tissue, the taps on and off, we were soaked but that gave me half an hour of him entertained and I did that twice," she explained.There was a moment of relief just before the plane landed, explained Sam, who shared that Edward did go to sleep before landing, but was 'kicking off' again upon departing the aircraft. Sharing her emotional journey, she said: "At the end of the flight I thought I was going to break down into tears, I actually welled up when I got off the flight but I held it back.
