Salford's bullish confidence over Andy Ackers appeal - but two key stars ruled out of pivotal Leigh clash

Salford are confident of having Andy Ackers available to face Leigh on Friday evening and will tonight appeal the suspension to hand him a one-game ban.

The hooker was charged with a Grade B tripping offence by the Match Review Panel, but the offence was penalised as a ruck infringement by on-field referee Ben Thaler and coach Richard Marshall believes the club have strong grounds to have the suspension dismissed.

"He was lying in the ruck, but we don't feel he's intentionally tripped anybody,"
